Used with a DLC X
My venerable DLC-X has had several of these blades over the last twenty years. The processor’s shaft would no longer fit on the drive motor. I opened up the last failure the see what happened. Internally there is a strong sleeve molded into the blade. No Problem there! BUT, there is a much smaller ring at the bottom of the blade that I assume is used to guide the blade onto the drive shaft. IF THE BLADE is removed during a batch processing and then re-inserted onto the shaft it is extremely important to ensure that it is fully inserted back onto the shaft, not left partially suspended by whatever you are chopping at the bottom of the bowl.
Considering that this blade costs as much as an entire run-of-the-mill food processor It’s worth taking the time to make sure it is completely seated. BTW the motor base is still running great. Many complements to the original Cuisinart company.
Keeps on ticking.
This blade is for the DLC-X Pro 20 quart processor, my second replacement blade. The food processor is over 20 years old and nearly all the plastic work bowl pieces have been replaced at least once. Still, it’s a workhorse and parts continue to be available: no planned obsolescence here. I use it for mixing and kneading bread once a week, a big pie crust recipe with one pound of shortening to make four large crusts, veggie slicing. cutting fries, and, of course, and grating hard Romano or Parmigiano chunks. Hummus, salad dressing, mayo, no problem. I couldn’t do without it.
OMG
Ours busted with one fatal snap! This one got shipped to me and was there to save the day with in 3 days during the XMAS rush!
