KitchenAid 2 Pack Mixer Bowl Cover

Very Important Details About These Covers

Having recently purchased KitchenAid KP26M1PSL Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer, Silver for my fiance, I knew that getting accessories for the mixer was a must to get the most out of our mixer but anyone who is familiar with KitchenAid products know that they have numerous different types of mixers. That’s one beef I have with KitchenAid, make your product accessories a little bit easier to understand without having to go through research mode like you’re studying for some kind of final exam that counts for 90% of your grade… but I digress.

Being research-oriented for nearly everything I buy, I had to make sure all the accesssories I purchased (6 now) fit/match the mixer I own. With that said, I checked with KA Online Help as well as that nifty accordian-folded accessories booklet that came with my mixer to get my information.

The covers I’m reviewing are model “KNBC”…

Exactly what you need!

My wife loves to bake cupcakes and is always making icing and then soaking our dishtowels in water and draping them over her mixer bowls. I’m getting kinda tired of having all of our dishtowels stained with various colored icings as well as the mess it makes. These lids fit snugly over the mixing bowls and keep the icing air-tight (or close enough to it) so you don’t have to hurry while decorating those cookies with royal icing and have it get all hardened on you. it’s one of those products that you say to yourself “am I really going to buy this? I can just use a dishtowel.”

Make your spouse happy and buy it. Save the towels!

One caveat

When I ordered these, I thought they were open in the middle – missed the part that it was a “cover”. Since my wife was having a problem with mixer splashing out I had hoped this would stop that while allowing her to still add ingredients. I ended up using a sharp knife and cutting a hole in the middle circle of one of the units and she loves how it works. She has the second one to use as a cover when she needs to. Although I killed two birds with one stone, it takes a little nerve to cut into a brand new lid – but in the end it worked out perfectly.
