Works great, but…
This product works like a charm to mix and scrape, but cleaning cookie dough/batter off of it is another story. It catches dough at the center top and cleaning it off of each of those little scrapers is a pain. I’m talking about scraping it off to use, not actual washing. For washing, I used a brush to get into all the little spots. Initially, I liked the idea of alternating scrapers and the design in the center, but in hindsight, I think the more simple design that KitchenAid has with a single scraper on one side would be much easier to use.
Worth it!
This is just the right attachment to use when adding in chocolate chips, nuts, etc. It also works well when you are mixing thin mixes such as cakes. I like the metal attachment for thicker mixes, but it works well on that also. Would buy again!

Wow what an improvement over the original. When using the mixer before, it was necessary to practically stop and remove the bowl to scrape down the sides. The sideswipe does it automatically with the soft scrapers on the blade. Be sure to follow the adjustment instructions the first time. This adjustment makes sure the height is set correctly. All you need is a spade blade screwdriver. My wife was not happy with the Kitchenaid mixer prior to getting this blade but now she loves it. We have used it to make a dozen different kinds of Christmas cookies, 5 bar cookies and numerous other mixes. It looks like the first time we used it, no wear so far and does not seem to tax the mixer.
