My-Kap Reusable 9 Piece Cap Set for K-Cups with Brush

My-Kap works well, but…

…not all of the time.

The caps fit certain pod brands better than others. For example, I have found the CoffeePeople pods work great with the caps, but Green Mountain pods do not, the fit is a little too tight to secure the cap sufficiently. A secure cap is important, especially if you store multiple pods for later use. It is too easy to tip one over and have the contents go everywhere. An unsecured cap will also create a mess when you put the pod into your coffee maker.

I am very happy otherwise with the caps, especially if you prefer a fine grind of coffee. Two problems noted with the competing Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter is that you should use a course grind and that the resulting coffee quality is not as good as that from a finer grind or using an enclosed filter. The My-Kap allows you to overcome both of these problems. I am going to try another competing product,…

Works as advertised

Saw this on a blog about Keurigs and coffee makers and decided to try it after getting the Keurig. It is simple and works pretty well – I found that it helps to flush most of the coffee out of the used cup, then blow into the little hole on the bottom and the filter pops out. You can then rinse it clean more easily. If there are a few specks of coffee left it’s OK. Fill and cap it.

Easy, cost effective with minimal mess!

We bought a Keurig last Christmas. With our busy lifestyles it is very convenient. We also bought one of the Keurig My K-cup reusable filter pods because knowing that k-cups get expensive for one thing, not all brands of coffee offer K-cups and I like to periodically roast my own coffee. Keurig’s reusable My K-cup contraption was a pain in the butt! It was difficult trying to get the piece out of the machine and then really messy clean up, I had coffee grounds everywhere. It defeated the purpose of easy brewing. This was obviously designed to encourage one to continue buying only the expensive K-cups. I started doing some research and decided to try the My-Kap because it seemed to be the least expensive option.

I reused K-cups by removing the lid, stripping out the inner filter, and then washing them. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on miniature K-cup filter (defeats the purpose of trying to save money) so I decided to use regular coffee filters that are so much cheaper (a…
