Great tamper on a budget
This is a very well-made tamper and great for those on a budget. It’s got decent weight and just the right convexity. It’s a true 58mm and fits Gaggia portafilters like a glove. It also looks damn nice with the Gaggia Espresso Color machine. Don’t hesitate on this purchase.
Edit: Be careful! I didn’t realize how fragile this tamper is. The handle snapped off from a drop on the countertop of less than 3 feet.
Classy no-BS tamper
I got one in “lava” red. It is a classy looking industrial standard 58mm tamper – much! better than plastic or light tin tampers you might have gotten with your machines. Tamper’s bottom is a rather heavy piece of stainless steel (at least it looks like SS). You can unscrew it and substitute for a flat one from some online vendors (it originally came in convex shape, which is absolutely fine with me). Looks good, cost is reasonable and functions as it should. I can’t justify $50-100 for such a basic piece of kitchen paraphernalia as some other “classic” brands will charge you (e.g. Reg). Averall I am very glad I bought it.
Really feels good in your hand
Works perfect. Solid build and looks really nice. It seems to be built with good quality, and fits the portafilter I have perfectly
