This brush works great!
Because of the angled head it lets you brush the group head while flushing with hot water. The hot water just drips off the head and not on your fingers.
Great for individual parts of the espresso machine
I found the rattleware brush to be good to use on individual parts if they are off the espresso machine for cleaning. The brush is difficult to get around the areas/grooves on the machine itself – near the seal to get out all the coffee grounds. It’s a tight area and the brush doesn’t do the job.
Excellent Cleaning Tool for Gaggia Espresso Machines
I used this brush on a Gaggia New Baby 2006 espresso machine which has a commercial 58-mm group head. The brush fit tightly (a good thing) into the channel where the group head gasket sits. This allowed me to scrub out the coffee grinds which were slowly building up on the gasket. If you have a smaller group head (i.e. have a pressurized portafilter) on your espresso machine this brush probably will not fit. The drip guard on the brush does work, but because it’s almost half-way down the handle it’s rather common for the water to drip off to the side of the machine rather than conveniently into the drip tray (still better than having the hot water scalding your hand). Lastly I have to note that the brush was very stiff when it arrived but softened up after repeated uses. I prefer the brush on the softer side as it makes it easier through to fit into the group head channel.
