Great Additional Carafe

I got my parents a new coffee pot for Christmas (Cuisinart DCC-1150WH) and also got them this additional carafe so they could have 2 pots brewed. They like to have a pot of coffee and a pot of tea brewed so I figured an added bonus would be the second pot, which I got in black (while the maker is white) so they can differentiate with color coding.

This pot fits perfectly with the maker and they couldn’t be happier.

Just as a note, the physical shape of the handle is just slightly different than the original model I noted. It’s a style thing and does not change the function of the pot at all. But it is there so I thought I would call it out. However it is so slight most people wouldn’t even notice it if you didn’t put them side by side.

Fits the DCC-1150 10-cup machine

This is a great 10-cup thermal carafe replacement and the new lid seems to pour so much more efficiently than the original black one.

Solid product

This thermal carafe does keep coffee long for up to four hours in my experience, which makes it a pretty solid value.

Works as promised

Although I think this is rather high in price, it does what it is supposed to do and I believe it is worth the money. I am purchasing another one for my daughter. The one complaint we have about the Kitchen Aid mixer is stopping to scrap down the bowl. With the bowl-lift this isn’t very easy or quick to do because the beater is in the way. The SideSwipe makes the scrapping of the bowl unnecessary. It works great!

No need to scrape!

I’d initially learned about this item while visiting my mom in Florida. We had stumbled upon a little kitchen supply shop in town and they were carrying them; alas, they were out of the size I needed…thank goodness I found them on Amazon.com!

My assessment: I just finished making my “infamous” New Year’s Eve clam dip and utilized the “Sideswipe” for the first time since I received it a few days ago. I can attest that this accessory does exactly what it’s intended to do; it scrapes (gently!) the sides of the bowl so effectively, there’s truly no need for you to do so, which will save you both time and energy! It offers easy clean up as well, making it an ideal Kitchenaid cook’s companion.

I highly recommend this product; just be sure to measure your existing beater blade (height and width), so you are sure to order the right size for your specific Kitchenaid mixer.

i had all but stopped using my kitchen aid for anything but icings and whipped creams. i did not like having to stop drop and scrape down doughs and batters. i started using my handheld for cookies and cakes. the side swipe does a good job mixing the dough and scraping down the sides. its less messy and reduces the amount of time needed.

Urnex Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner Tablets, Blister Pack (32, 2g tablets)

best price for cleaning

It took me many years to discover this product. I use it exclusively now and no problems with my two machines. The price is the best part.

Used for Jura machine

My Jura Capresso, Impressa F7 machine (as well as their other machines) calls for very expensive Jura cleaning tablets. I got tired of buying their expensive tablets and tried these instead. They work just as well and appear to be the exact same thing. Compare the price but when I bought them they were a fraction of the Jura tablets. The Jura machines are expensive and need to be kept in good working order. We have had ours for over 2 years and I have used these tablets for the past year. We love the coffee from our machine.

Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner Tablets, FABULOUS

The manufacturer says to use vinegar, however, I asked Starbucks what they use and they recommended tablets. Let me say this product is a miracle! Easy to use, cleans the machine thoroughly and is so fantastic I wish I would have found it earlier. Highly recommend!

BUNN 3.8L Lever-Action Airpot #36725 for hot coffee

Works Perfectly

I placed boiling water in this airpot one afternoon at 2pm to see how long it would stay warm. I checked the temperature of the water occasionally throughout the evening and into the following day by running small amounts into a cup. When I finally decided to empty the airpot the following evening after 7pm, the water was still too hot for me to place my finger in and keep it in. Being able to maintain a liquid at a very hot tempreature for 29 hours was enough of a test for me. And throughout all that time, nothing on the outside of the airpot ever became warm to the touch. I love this thing. It is easy to use, disassemble, and clean. I was concerned that it might be top-heavy but it isn’t. It also has a non-skid surface on the bottom. This airpot was much nicer and more efficient than I expected – what a nice surprise.

I bought this to sell hot apple cider at a farmers market and it worked all day long keeping everything hot. I have used it many times and it has never let me down. I highly suggest this product!

It has a fairly good capacity and keeps the coffee hot for the six hours that we need it. We are happy with this item.

TWINBIRD siphon coffee makers dark brown CM-D853BR

Good Brewer

This is a nice little siphon brewer. One reason I really like it is because I can get my water started then go get ready. Water does take a little while before it is ready to begin the brewing process. Siphons are fun to watch and make a great cup of coffee. There are a few things I don’t like about this brewer. The main thing is the lack of temp. control. Siphons are usually heated until the water starts to rise then the temp lowered from there. This is just a siphon on a hot plate, no control except over the brew time. Also HATE cloth filters. They are just a pain to store properly. I would recommend getting a different filter holder and going with some of the Hario paper filters or a mesh filter.

Overall this makes a good cup of coffee. Great for in the morning if you don’t have time to play coffee chemist. Just make sure to put in your coffee after water has risen to top chamber. Brew for no longer than 3 minutes, take off hot plate and enjoy…
