KitchenAid Dough Hook, Burnished Spiral, Wide Bowl

If ordering this, just be sure you’re getting the correct part for your bowl type (I didn’t).

The part number for this item is listed as KNS25BDH, which is the burnished spiral hook for the NARROW bowl (K5ASB or K5ASP). The item title says “Burnished Spiral, Wide Bowl’ – which does not match the part number.

I’m not sure which part you would get if you ordered this – the wide or narrow bowl hook.

I have written to Amazon to ask them to correct this, and they are undertaking to do so (good customer service, guys!) – but in the meantime, buyer take care!

NOT For KitchenAid Artisan Tilt-Head 5-quart Mixer! I contacted KitchenAid with this question: “RE: Artisan tilt-head 5-quart Mixer. Please tell me if the spiral dough hooks will fit? (Not the “C” hook that comes with the mixer, I’m asking about the optional “S” spiral dough hook.)”

An excerpt from the KitchenAid Response was as follows, “Unfortunately, there is no spiral dough hook that is compatible with your model stand mixer.”

Buyer Beware, incorrect part number in description.

The Buy-It-Now-Store is listing this spiral dough hook by the incorrect Kitchenaid part number. They show it as KNS25BDH which is the part number for a 5qt. narrow bowl mixer, not the wide bowl mixer. The description “KitchenAid Dough Hook, Burnished Spiral, Wide Bowl” is correct. So it fits the wide bowl 6qt lift mixers, which would actually be part # KS256BDH. My problem was that I searched Amazon by part number KNS25BDH which would be for my 5qt. narrow bowl mixer and I didn’t notice the different item description. So when I received it I submitted for a return. Since this is from the 3rd party seller, “Buy-It-Now-Store” using Amazon, the return policy is based on the 3rd party as well, which is very severe. They require the buyer to pay shipping on all returns, and then an added penalty of a restocking fee, also deducting the original outbound shipping of the item before refunding.
