Hunter 90405 16-Inch Portable Stand Fan, Brushed Nickel

Excellent fan – 4 yrs old

Tired of buying fans over & over. I know the Hunter ceiling fans are the best you can get (old company). The reason the fans are so good is the sealed bearings on the motor shaft and quality motor allowing 10-15 year plus life. Good simple design/finish & sturdy. I have the Hunter Portable Stand fan (4 yrs old, then $90) which I got after seeing weak motored plastic/metal fans wear out in 2-3 yrs.[frustrated w/ it] Stuff on the shelf today is even poorer quality. Hunter quality I can trust & excellent warranty but I never needed it.

Works well

It’s a fan. It blows air around at three different speeds. You can make it oscillate, or just keep it in one place. Voila.

Assembly was very straightforward, except for the very final step when you have to anchor a metal collar around the front and rear grille. It’s annoying if you don’t line it up correctly – and it’s very easy to not line up correctly. Once you have it situated, you need to push the collar ends together while attempting to tighten a screw. It’s doable with one person, but having a second set of hands available would make it much easier.

Also, it has just enough noise to placate my sleeping self. I don’t understand why anybody would want a quiet fan. I need the white noise more than the cooling power quite frankly. This does both well. Looks very sharp, especially compared to plastic fans. Have only had it for a couple weeks, so can’t comment on durability.

Hunter rocks it again

I have 4 hunter fans now. they have a 5 year warranty and Hunter stands behind it. They are amazing family center pieces if you ask me. These fans are on the shorter side, probably less than 48". Kind of thought it was going to be taller, but the fan puts out some serious amount of air and is a beautiful piece. I love the all metal construction. Target had sold them for a while and the grade of fan at target was cheaper than the ones i’ve gotten from amazon.
