The replacement handle is a geniuine GE part, but both the original and this one broke in the same spot.

Handle is great. Installing it is not for the faint of heart. I would suggest 2 people when you take apart the door,I dropped the door and was lucky to only break the plastic trim piece

Exact fit and a great price!

This part was an exact replacement and the cost was about 20% of the full manufacturer retail. I read a number of negative reviews for this product that have nothing to do with the product…."design flaws with the microwave, handles that keep breaking, door alignment, latch too stiff"…none of this has to do with the handle, which does exactly what it is supposed to do, it sits there until you grab it and then it just sits there! It’s a HANDLE people! Operator error probably explains most of the negative comments; do you know how after 10 years the handle of my microwave broke?…..I could barely reach it from off to one "side", grabbed ahold of it and yanked it open (yes the latch is stiff….keeps all of the microwaves inside and I like that!) and it snapped because it is made to be pulled straight out not to the side, which is what I call "operator error". Keep the ratings to the product itself, in this case a handle that does exactly what a handle is…
