CoffeeDuck Classic 2-Pack – Permanent Refillable Coffee Filter for the Senseo models HD7810-HD7819 – Create your own custom strength and Flavor

Greatly increase your coffee choiceswith Senseo coffee maker

The CoffeeDuck Classic works fine for me. I grind up coffee beans using the “fine” setting on my coffee grinder and fill the CoffeeDuck about fill. I usually use the two cup setting and get a good tasting cup of coffee. The only down side is dumping the remains in my garbage can which is a bit more trouble than the Senseo pods. All in all, I’m completely pleased with this purchase.

It’s better than paying pod prices but…

The big attraction of the Senseo coffee maker was the delicious coffee its pressurized brewing system produced. But then pods became somewhat inconvenient to buy (mail order mostly) and a good deal more expensive, too,. So the Coffee Duck represented an opportunity to get the good coffee without paying for the pods. Well, it was a good idea but it falls a bit short on at least a couple of scores.

First, while the coffee is still pretty good with the Coffee Duck, it isn’t as good as it was with the pods, and there’s only about half the golden "crema" foam the pods produced. The flavor with the Coffee Duck is more akin to what you’d expect from a good drip-brewing coffee maker…which still, to repeat, falls a bit short of the Senseo’s expresso-style, pressure-brewed pod coffee.

Another complaint is that the ultra thin outer ring of the plastic top on one of the two Coffee Duck filters I bought was cracked.

The Coffee Duck is also a bit labor…

Great product!

Holds enough coffee to actually make it a good strength! (I do recommend buying an extra fine grind which is what they advise as well)
